The Kelantan Football Association (Malay: Persatuan Bolasepak Kelantan) enters a team in Malaysian football competitions to represent the state of Kelantan, Malaysia. The team is based in the city of Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Malaysia. They are currently playing in the top division in Malaysian football, the Malaysia Super League. Their home stadium is Sultan Mohammad IV Stadium in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Malaysia.
Kelantan has won major trophies in Malaysian football, including Super League and Malaysia Cup. The team won the Malaysia Cup in 2010, Malaysian League Division II title in 2000, and finished runners-up in the Malaysia Cup in 1955, 1970 and 2009.
During the 2007-08 season, Kelantan FA had their large supporter attendance improved with home stadium, the Sultan Mohammad IV Stadium packed during the . It also boost a considerably high attendance at away games. The results are seen as Kelantan FA were unbeatable at home during the 2007-08 Malaysia Premier League season. Kelantan FA only home loss of the season was to Malaysia Super League side Terengganu FA during the 2007-08 Malaysia Cup which Kelantan FA lost 0-1.
Kelantan FA has a long-standing rivalry with neighbours Terengganu FA, with whom it regularly contests the East Coast Derby.

Kelantan Amateur Football Association (Kafa) was founded in 1946. In 1986, the Deputy Minister of Kelantan that time, Datuk Haji Ahmad Haji Ahmad Maher Alhaddad leadership Kelantan football until 1990. In 1991, State Secretary Datuk Haji Wan Hashim Wan Daud took over the leadership left by Datuk Haji Ahmad Haji Ahmad Maher Alhaddad helm after the state government changed hands. In 2004, the presidency changed hands after Haji Ahmad Yaakub Jazlan are given access to leading Kafa. History is written in the book where the Kelantan football in 2005, the only states that play in the Premier League after being relegated to Malaysia FAM League from the Premier League previous year. The year 2007 saw a change in the landscape of the new leadership of Kafa when Tan Sri Datuk Seri Annuar Musa been entrusted to lead the Kelantan Football Association for the term 2007/2010.
First year with Tan Sri Kelantan has produced improvements with successful third place in the Premier League season 2007/08. Even in the Malaysia Cup, although we failed to qualify for the Malaysia Cup quarter-final, but the shock made the group stage saw the rise of some of Kelantan should not be underestimated. In 2009 Kelantan proud to have made the finals of two FA Cup final and the Malaysia Cup final. But both games saw only just called runners-up.In 2010 Kelantan eventually create its own history for successfully achieving the status of the Super League Runner and Malaysia Cup champions. Kelantan continued its glorious achievements on January 28, 2011, Kelantan once made history by clinching the first time the Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Cup in Kuala Lumpur as the champions beat Survive. Many football players born in Kelantan has made a name at the national level and represent the country in international competition. Names like Hamid Ramli, Mustafa Hashim, Kamaruddin Hamzah Mohd Nor and Afendi never did the country proud in football. Even now many Kelantan born players representing the club and the states in the local league.
Under Peter Butler's helm, Kelantan FA home side went unbeaten in the 2008-09 season until a venue irregularities had a home result lost by default by the Football Association of Malaysia. The game between Kelantan FA and KL PLUS FC was awarded 3-0 to KL PLUS FC as Kelantan FA could not agree on a suitable venue. However the result was then revoked and the game would be replayed at a later date[1]
On April 7, Kelantan FA's goalkeeper, Mohd Halim Napi was suspended for punching and stepping on Negeri Sembilan FA's defender, Aidil Zafuan during Malaysia FA Cup 2009 semi-final first-leg match.[2] As a result of the incident, Kelantan FA have been slapped with a total fine of RM900,000 and the Sultan Mohammad IV Stadium in Kota Bharu, Kelantan has been suspended as a venue for all matches sanctioned by Football Association of Malaysia until the end of the year
In 1993 Kelantan entered the semi-finals of the FA Cup Malaysia, but lost to Kedah. Kedah defeated Kelantan with a narrow 3-2 win to enter the finals. The two goals scored by Kelantan came from Hashim Mustapha and Tuan Kamree Tuan Yahya. While in reciprocal action in Kota Bharu, Kelantan lost 0-1, and saw the referee at the time, Mohd Jamil Zakaria from Perak, Kelantan supporters attacked a natural phenomenon is not satisfied with the decision. They came from behind to clinch a 2-1 win over Negeri Sembilan.[4] Badri Radzi was the hero for the east coast side when he struck the winner in the 65th minute.[5] Kelantan FA's victorious coach B. Satianathan refused to commit his future to the newly crowned Malaysia Cup champions as he awaits the result of an appeal against a six-month ban. For season running from 1984 to 2003, Dunhill was club's first shirt sponsor. However, it ended after tobacco sponsorship was banned in Malaysian football. Malaysia's telco, TM is the new shirt sponsors from season 2004 to 2010. In 2010 season, the main sponsors are Al-Hamra Group, Yusmira Trading, Sinar Harian, Air Asia and TM. Their logo is labeled on the club jersey.
The club's kit manufacturer in 2008 was Nike which lasted for a year. In 2009, Sportzone a local manufacturer took charge. Ever since 2010, Umbro is the current manufacturer.
In 2012, the club's kit manufacturer is Umbro and Warriors.The main sponsors are Happy Prepaid Company, Al-Hamra Group, Yusmira Trading, Sinar Harian, TRW Station, MASTERSKILL College, Mamee and Al-Jabbar, where the labels will appear on the team jerseys.
Kelantan FA are currently based at Sultan Mohammad IV Stadium in Kota Bharu, Kelantan. The capacity of the stadium is 30,000. This has been Kelantan FA's ground since 1946. The Stadium was built in 1967 and aims to provide a venue for sports activities from Kelantan, especially as a soccer field. It was built on the site of a football field of Kelantan Football Association.
The Kelantan FA's new stadium will be under construction soon in Bukit Merbau, Pasir Puteh. It has been proposed and agreed by the Kelantan state government. The capacity of the new stadium will be 40,000 alongside a sports complex and a mosque. And as promised by the state government to understand that construction work will commence in March 2012[7]
The sports complex will eventually become a sports city where mixed development will take place on the 100hactar land approved by the executive councilors[8]. The Kelantan government will go ahead on its proposal to build a new stadium although the Kelantan Football Association (Kafa) has planned a RM300 million stadium in Bandar Baharu Tunjong, Kota Bharu.
